Ryan King was born in Calgary, Alberta and at a young age his family moved to the West Kootenay Region of Southern British Columbia. Not being raised in a Christian home, he accepted Christ as Saviour in June, 1997 at the age of 16 at Beaver Valley Baptist Church, Montrose, BC.
In the summer of 1999, he surrendered to the call of Bible School and enrolled at Heritage Baptist University (now Indiana Baptist College). He graduated with honours in 2003 with a Bachelor in Arts and earned a Master of Arts in 2005 from Heritage Baptist Seminary.
While in Bible College, he mentored under Dr. Marc Monte at Faith Baptist Church in Avon, IN.
Ryan worked from 2000-2003 at an inner-city rescue mission, specializing in inner-city youth. He was also a pastoral assistant at Paragon Bible Baptist Church under Pastor Cleve Cross and Waverly Baptist Church under Pastor David Ball. In 2005, he accepted the Senior Pastor position at Bethel Baptist Church in Westville, Nova Scotia.
Ryan and his wife Jacinda have been married since 2003 and they have three children; Nathanael, Jacob and Karis.
